달빛은 물(水)의 세계로서 탄생의 여건이며 창출의 음기 (Moon light is the condition of birth for the world of water and yin energy for creation)
달빛은 음기가 강하고 음광은 흑색광을 포함하고 있다. 동양에서는 밤의 색을 음양오행설의 학설에 의해 농담건습(濃淡乾濕)을 함유하고 있는 먹의 오색과 비유한다. 그러니까 오행의 기(氣)가 흑색을 농담건습한 색이라고 정의하고 있는 것이다.
The moonlight is full of yin energy and yin ray contains black ray. In the Orient, yin ray's five basic elemental doctrine compares the color of the night to the variegated colors of the ink stick that contain the light, shade, dryness, and wetness. So the spirit of five basic elements define the black as a color containing light, shade, dryness, and wetness.

흑색은 물(水)의 기라고도 한다. 모든 생명이 물이 없이는 잉태할 수도 없고 생명을 영위할 수도 없어서 흑색-물-달빛은 공통된 생명의 근원적 요소라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 김형권(金炯權)의 잉태 시리즈는 그 동안 추구해왔던 달빛추억과도 무관하지 않다.
The black color is also said to be the spiritual energy of water. Since no life can be conceived nor sustained without water, it can be said that the black, water, and moonlight are the fundamental elements of life. Thus, Kim Hyung Kwon's series of work on conception is not unrelated to the reminiscences of moonlight he pursued.

달빛은 물(水)의 세계로서 생명탄생의 조건이며 이를 내포하고 있는 달빛은 생명창출의 음기이다. 우리의 민속신앙에서도 아이를 잉태하지 못하는 아낙이 달의 음기가 가장 강하다는 대보름 밤에 정한수를 떠놓고 잉태를 기원했던 사실도 생명을 생산하기 위한 기도였다.
Moonlight is the necessary condition of giving life in the world of water and the moonlight that implies this is the yin energy of creation of life. That even in our traditional faith, women who cannot get pregnant wish for conception with lustral water to the first full moon when the yin energy of the moon is supposedly at its strongest, is a fact that it was a prayer for life.
모든 자연현상은 이 같은 기에 의해 생성과 소멸을 반복하게 되는데 기는 시기에 따라 변하게 되고 또한 시기에 따라 받아들이는 감성이 다르게 마련(이형성)이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 김형권은 소년시절 자연에서 체감한 감수성이 변색되지 않고 유지되고 있다는 사실도 미술경향에서는 더욱 간과할 수 없다.
All natural phenomena is created and destructed by such spiritual energy, therefore the spiritual energy changes by moment and also depending on the moment the receiving sense changes. Nevertheless the fact that Kim Hyung Kwon's sensibility experienced through nature in childhood has been maintained and not tainted cannot be overlooked in artistic disposition.
