Lotus leaves form into a feast of colors. Vital anthems draw attention and expand the boundaries of thought. The vigorous growth of the Lotus rooted in the dirt and the square resembling skyscrapers are meeting quietly and vividly at the extension of time.
She quotes : “The standing symbol of the background is ‘me.’ The upright figure of us living the present." The sensible desires of the communion of fresh buds and self-conscious derive familiarity through similar tones of vivid color.

Donal Lee caused a sensation at her private exhibition “Here, Right now’ held in 2004 at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts because her works of folk painting, especially those of flowers and birds, were all sold out. After this event, she ponders over her art world and suddenly develops a desire to paint differently so she heads for New York.

She expresses time, space, and existence through her works containing lines, buildings, and the boundless universe. In February of 2005, she holds a private exhibition at ‘Gallery 32’ in New York. She quotes “The techniques utilized at that time became the starting point for the geometric spatiality such as the square model appearing in the recent Lotus series.”
In her exhibition in 2006 at Seoul Arts Center Hangaram Museum of Art, she exhibits flowers and bird paintings which are more stable and smooth compared to her earlier works. She also succeeds in sales outcome. She included Lotus flowers as her art subject and presented the Lotus series in December, last year at Asan Gallery. She is continuing her lotus works today.
