강렬한 색상 대비의 꽃 색채

 

 

 

 

강현숙 작가는 모든 꽃의 종류에 따라 향취와 청취가 다르게 보이며 형태, 생태 속성 등을 잘 관찰하여 화의(畵意)를 느끼게 하는 화가이다.

 

Artist Hyeon-Sook Kang observes very closely and captures very well the different fragrances, shapes, and ecological attributes of all types of flowers.

 

꽃들의 시점은 매우 다양하고 자유롭게 전개되고 있다. 여러 시점이 뒤섞여 나름대로 하나의 원리를 갖고 있는데 물체와 대상을 완전하게 표현하기 위해 화면에 한 송이 꽃으로 확대하여 크게 표현하기도 하고 여러 송이 꽃을 동시에 배치해 놓은 것이 그것이다. 그리고 모든 꽃의 색채는 강렬한 색상 대비로 표현하고 있다.

 

The perspectives of the flowers are very diverse and freely developed. Different perspectives are mixed with a principle: to express the subject completely, a bunch of flowers are arranged together and one flower is magnified sometimes. Moreover, the colors of all flowers are expressed with strong color contrast.

 

 

 

 

 

때때로 어린 시절에 보아온 물오리 참새와 같은 동물도 그리기도 하고 여름날의 해바라기와 가을날의 청명하고 맑은 풍경화, 겨울 설경을 그리기도 한다. 작가는“다 떠나기 전에 덜 지워지기 전에 저 아름다운 색깔들을 붙들어야지. 내 몸의 온갖 감각기관을 열어놓고 저 울림들 속에 색감을 기억해내노라면 물감은 내 영혼을 휘감는다”고 이야기 했다.  

 

She sometimes paints animals such as wild ducks and sparrows that she saw in her childhood days. She also paints sunflowers in summer, clear landscapes in fall, and snow scene in winter. She said, "I should capture the beautiful colors before everything leaves or becomes erased. When I recall the impressions of colors with all my senses open to the world, paints twine around my soul."

 

 

 

 

강현숙 작가는 인사아트센터(서울), 선 갤러리(미국 LA) 등 개인전을 8회 가졌고 국내 및 해외전에 300여회 참여했다.

 

Artist Hyeon-Sook Kang held 8 private exhibitions in Insa Art Center (Seoul, Korea) and Sun Gallery (LA, USA), and participated in over 300 domestic and overseas exhibitions.
