[2020년]Park Chul, a South Korean Paper Artist‥Repeated bull-work and long dehydrating processes
Cob about 20sheets of hanji(traditional Korean paper handmade from mulberry trees) paper, paper by handwork. It is then collection with a natural adhesive agent from the roots of a plant called Hwangch’okkyu(hibiscus manihot,黃蜀葵). So it made a very substantial surface.
Use colors from plants such as a safflower and a sweet potato. It was made in an environment-friendly method that did not change over the years.
This way, It goes through repeated bull·work and long dehydrating processes. It is the work of endurance which houses the artisan spirit.
Park Chul is immersed in his work. It is a work that requires a heavy labor force.<사진:권동철>
