A painter is unrealistic, because she dreams of the world which is completely different from the reality. However, it is not completely apart from the real world.

After all, artist’s formative imagination is the outcome of knowledge and experience that she has obtained from the real world. Thus, formative world which painter’s dream is making can be an extended reality. Therefore, a picture can be a kind of magic integrating the reality and the dream into a single concept of space. Younghee is a colorist clearly showing the beauty of pictorial colors. At the moment when facing her artwork, I think ‘this is a real picture.’ Like I am enchanted, I am gladly indulged in sensational and beautiful color image, because her artwork shows the fantastic beauty through the color image which is completely different from the reality. She blocks the realistic sense with brilliant color image which overwhelms the sense. Thus, she makes us enter a fantastic room which her artwork creates without hesitation. The fantastic room is made of the prism of enriched primary colors.

 

 

 

 

At the moment when I stand in front of her artwork, my realistic sense is temporary paralyzed, because her artwork creates independent pictorial space in the true sense which is completely different from the reality. Dazzling color space which continues to have harmony as well as contrast of brilliant primary colors makes usual viewers temporary confused. It has the spell of formativeness which dazzles eyes of viewers. It is the picture which does not induce noble and pedantic thinking but stimulates the emotion. Most of her artworks have portrait format highlighting figures. However, the image of a woman is very unrealistic. Above all, she avoids drawing specific appearance and she gives rough and elliptical ｅxpressions in her artworks. In other words, even if it is a portrait, it is difficult to find specific ｅxpression such as eyes, nose, mouth, ears, etc. Eyes, nose and mouth are expressed with simple lines or dots.

 

 

 

 

Moreover, the shape of face is expressed differently from the reality. Her artworks show visual images and emotions which are quite different from artworks in the format of portraits expressing noble and elegant appearance so far. However, it does not look strange. on the contrast, I look at extraordinary beauty which I cannot appreciate from a realistic portray of woman with curiosity Figurative languages are expressed roughly, strongly and freely as if they deny and destroy the inherent beauty of woman. They are quite rebellious. She emphasizes atypical beauty through free ｅxpression obtained by destroying soft and supple feminine curves. The reason is that it comes from visual pleasure which I feel in the atypical beauty. If your emotion is not shaken as you look at her artworks made up of primary colors and rough and strong expressive images, it is strange. I am embarrassed when I look at her artworks. on the other hands, I feel visual pleasure, because bold primary colors and active and free ｅxpression techniques stimulate her emotion. I feel the sense of freedom as if closed emotions are opened at the same time with strong and unstoppable brushstrokes. Because it is filled with freedom and passion unlike elegant images expressed by the realistic technique, which is a soft, warm and mild painting technique. This freedom is a factor which breaks the formulaic formative order, and in other words, it brings the extraordinary beauty. Likewise, the force shaking and waking up aesthetic sensibility of viewers may be the idea which her artworks pursue. Yes. Both visual pleasure and strength shaking emotions are contained in her artworks. The strength represents new visual experience and pleasure coming from brilliant array of primary colors which blunt usual color emotion. It can be referred to as the joy of atypical beauty obtained by breaking away from formulaic physical beauty.Unrealistic color image and interpretation of a typical shape are direct factors leading the world of her artworks to a strange place. Likewise, colors dominate the shape and the shape breaks fixed ideas in her artworks.

If she is not a black woman, these artworks strongly show exotic sense, because it may be caused by very unusual array of primary colors. She looks at the world through a different perspective with others Own view is that women represent the power of the image is fantastic Her unique perspective is the power fantastically expressing image of woman. Reality and illusion, in other words, she clearly recognizes the difference between reality and picture. It is not a figure created through the reality, but an illusion created through pictorial imagination. In her artworks, there is supernatural world escaping from the dailliness. The supernatural world is the pictorial illusion as well as ideal.
