나의 작품 속 눈(雪)과 여백미

 

한국화에서의 여백정신. 같은 사물이나 사안을 보고도 시시때때로 변화되는 인간의 감정이나 서로 다른 생각, 너무나 많은 이야기, 무한히 전개될 수 있는 새로운 사고들까지 수용한다.

 

The idea of Yeobaek. It accepts the emotion of human beings which changes every time though looking at the same situation and the new thinking which can be developed infinitely.

 

 

   

    신작소나무골짜기-희망의 봄을 보다, 130x110cm 화선지에 수묵 담채, 2011

 

      

허와 무의 커다란 의미인 우주적 개념의 시간적 공간적 자리를 마련하려는 시각적 조형언어이다.

 

It is the formative language to arrange the spacial and time room which is an idea of the universe, the biggest meaning of Heo(weakness) and Mu(nothing).

눈은 주변의 사물을 전혀 다른 모습으로 바꾸어 놓고 그 속에 다양한 상상을 넣어 준다.

 

The white snow makes surroundings change into completely different looks and puts various imaginations into them.

 

 

   

    되재골에서 찾은 소망, 70x112cm 화선지에 수묵 담채, 2006

    

      

포근하고 따뜻한 감정을 담아 사물에 덮어놓고 그 부드러운 감동을 나에게 전해 주며 그것을 화면에 담아 두게 하는 충동을 자극한다.

 

The snow including soft and warm emotions in itself covers surroundings and gives me a soft impression that stimulates me to draw it into canvas.

흰 화선지의 부드럽고 포근함은 늘 나에게 눈을 연상시킨다. 그런 화선지의 모습을 다치지 않으려고 그 뒷자리와 주변을 그려 화선지 자신을 남겨 둔다. 자리와 주변을 그려 화선지 자신을 남겨 둔다.

 

The soft comfort of the white Hwa-Sun Ji always reminds me of the snow, therefore, I will leave Hwa-Sun Ji white by drawing only the background and surroundings not to ruin those features of Hwa-Sun Ji.

그것은 내 마음이기도 하고 마음 속 구석에 남겨 둔 어린아이와 같은 감상자들의 동심을 끌어 낼 수 있는 언어이기도 하다.

 

It can be my mind, and it can also be a language which can bring back the appreciators' childish minds left in a corner on the inside.

눈이 오는 날이면 김이 모락모락 나는 찻잔을 앞에 두고 많은 생각들을 만들어 본다. 행복한 생각들과 아름다운 꿈들을 눈 속 깊은 곳에 담아두고 언제든지 꺼내 보고 넣어 주는 그런 여백의 창고와 공간을 만들려 한다.

 

When it snows, I think of many things with a steaming cup of tea. I'm going to make a space and a warehouse so that I can put my happy thoughts and beautiful dreams into the deep inside of the snow and bring them out and put them back when I need.
